Our Signature Approach

Explore the Process

01

The quote

The first step is to complete my inquiry form, which helps me understand your needs. I'll then prepare a preliminary quote divided into two sections: "Needs" and "Wants." The "Needs" section will cover all the essential elements of your suite, while the "Wants" section will include optional enhancements. A few thoughtful selections from the "Wants" can truly elevate the overall look of your suite.

02

the consultation

Based on the quote, you can either move forward right away or, if you prefer, we can schedule a time to chat over the phone or via Zoom. During our conversation, I can walk you through the quote, answer any questions you have, and discuss your design ideas so I can get a clear understanding of your vision.

03

Design

Once your date is officially reserved, we’ll get through some housekeeping items and then on to the good stuff! You’ll choose colors, fonts, papers, and we’ll explore any optional bells and whistles during this time. We’ll collaborate together bouncing ideas off of one another to come up with something both personal and beautiful!

04

production

After your final sign off of the suite, I will prepare the print files and get it off to production. Your suite will arrive to you directly unless you have contracted me to assemble it for you. Shortly thereafter you’ll receive instructions and tips on how to assemble your invitations. I'm always an email away should have any questions!

05

cue the applause!

Now that your invitations are in the mail it's time to sit back, relax and wait for all that glowing feedback that is sure to come from your friends and loved ones!

The Investment

For custom wedding invitations, base prices start at $8.75 for one digitally printed set and $15.00 for one letterpress printed set. There is a minimum spend amount of $2,000 for custom wedding invitations. If your budget is less than $2,000 you can shop from our semi-custom collection! The average Elated Paper Co. bride spends approximately $2,000 - $3,500+ on custom wedding invitations and $800 - $2,000 on wedding day paper goods and stationery. This totals 8% of the wedding budget

Frequently asked

Questions

when do I mail my save the dates & invites

Save the dates can be mailed 9-12 months ahead of your wedding to give guests time to plan. Invitations can be mailed 9-12 weeks ahead of your wedding date with a response date of 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding. Destination weddings or weddings held over a holiday can be mailed 12+ weeks ahead of time.

how long does the process take?

The process usually takes 5-10 weeks from start to finish for custom orders. Collection orders usually take about 3-4 weeks. More complex print types typically take longer to produce. I have turned projects around in two weeks but don't make it a habit. It's less fun for all involved!

can you send me physical samples?

While I don't offer physical samples of specific wedding stationery suites I can send samples of past work including digital and letterpress and I do have sample paper packs that I'm happy to send along. Just email me with your address and I'd happy to drop them in the mail to you!

when do we start?

Invitations are mailed out typically 10-12 weeks before the wedding date. That being said, if you are planning a "destination" wedding mailing could be 12-14 weeks before the wedding day. To have the best experience possible the design process is best started 6-8+ months before the wedding.

do you offer envelope addressing?

Along with upgraded paper stock, envelope addressing is my most popular add-on. Designed with coordinating fonts and colors envelopes can be digitally printed or I can put you in touch with a talented artist who offers hand calligraphy. Envelope addressing is $1.75/ invitation and if this option is added an excel file for inputting your addresses will be provided. RSVP envelopes come pre-printed with your response address.

will my invitations come assembled?

When you receive your invitations, if there are any envelope liners, those will be adhered as part of our complimentary service. Detailed assembly instructions are provided to you once your order goes into production. If you would like your cards stacked and stuffed into the envelopes and/or enclosures and sealed, along with any additional vellum wraps, belly bands or wax seals, that service can be added for an additional fee depending on complexity of your suite. Mailing services are not offered.

how does the design process work?

This is the part of the process I and my clients enjoy most! Once booked I'll send along a questionnaire to gather all the information needed to start your proofs. I will create one full suite mock up so you can get a sense of how your suite will come together and also provide a few options for the main invitation. From there we'll start to nail down your selections and refine various options. It's a very visual and fun process!

what print options are available?

For all suites the base printing option available is flat digital printing. For custom suites or semi-custom suites with design upgrades we offer the specialty printing options listed below. Upgraded print types do require a longer lead time for production.

Digital printing ($) is flat printing where a digital image is transferred directly onto the paper. Digital printing allows for a quicker turnaround and use of multiple colors for the same price.

Thermography ($$) printing is where a powder is placed onto the paper and heated in a way to produced a raised effect. Thermography is priced by each added color.

Letterpress ($$$) printing is where a polymer plate is created of the artwork, inked and pressed into cotton stock to create a depression in the paper. This is a classic and beautiful print method and is also priced by color. A wide range of house inks are available and can be mixed with flat printing.

Foil ($$$) printing is where a plate is created of the artwork and metallic foil is pressed into the stock to create a depression in the paper. Foils are available in a variety of colors and can be mixed with both flat printing and letterpress printing.

how do i mail my invitations?

While I often weigh sample suites for clients I highly recommend taking a completed suite to the post office for weighing. A variety of factors can alter the cost of mailing a suite. If you've added ribbon or other items that increase the depth of a suite there may be a postal surcharge added. Most suites will weigh between 2 - 4 ounces with the majority being in the 2 ounce range. Reply cards will typically take a first class (forever) stamp. Some post offices will hand cancel invitations for you however even when this is done suites may end up going through a machine at another sorting facility. When in doubt over-estimate your postage!

The suite that Kate created for our wedding weekend was absolutely one of my most *favorite* elements of the celebration. She created such incredibly exquisite designs down to every last detail. I was blown away at her timely execution considering all of the unique requests.

Working with Kate was pure joy from start to finish.
